Chevron Careers Tree Visualization

The Chevron Careers website has just gone live, boasting an interactive tree visualization built on Constellation Framework. The customizations were built by Asterisq with a turn around time of just a week-and-a-half!

The visualization allows users to explore a hierarchical structure of college degrees and career opportunities. It includes cosmetic changes such as custom node and edge renderers, a background image, and smoother physics.

Chevron's Framework implementation also takes advantage of the hierarchical structure of the data by applying different forces to the parent and children of the selected node. The parent node will tend toward the top left of the screen, allowing the user to navigate back up the tree. Child nodes tend toward the lower right corner where the user can dig deeper into the dataset.
