Constellation Facebook Viz Featured on VisualComplexity

Last summer I used Constellation Framework to create a graph visualization of mutual friends on Facebook. I just noticed that the project has been featured on the visualization roundup website, VisualComplexity.com.

The application was never fully realized because of limitations of the Facebook API: mutual friends can only be discovered by querying pairs of user IDs. Even though several pairs can be queried in a single request, it still takes more than a few minutes to load all the data.

Still, it's interesting to watch the graph shift to accommodate the new data and the visualization can reveal patterns and cliques in your friends list. If you've got a few minutes, go ahead and check out the Facebook Mutual Friends Visualization on my personal blog.
